How Does it Work?
Here is my 10-step process for completing a Case Study
1: Contact
Send me an email to set up a time for a 15-30 minute no charge phone consultation.
During the call, we will discuss the project, timeline and budget. Afterwards, if we both feel we are the right fit, I send you a written summary of our conversation including a Project Estimate.
2: CONFIRM
Once you have reviewed the materials and decided you would like to work with me, I ask for a written confirmation of that and a 50% deposit on the project.
My rates are based per project with a one-time discovery/research fee for new clients (Appx: $200).
A typical 2-page (800 word) Case Study costs about $1,500.
3: PLANNING
Most clients have a strategic plan for their Case Studies.
A Case Study plan should be matched with your current marketing goals and target market.
I am happy to talk through your Case Study plan with you.
A typical Case Study will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
4: PERMISSIONS
The client handles the customer permission process.
Of course, not all customers want to be included in a Case Study, but many do. Some appreciate having the joint PR and exposure.
Others are happy customers willing to support the vendor for personal or professional reasons of their own.
5: INTERVIEW
Either the Client or I will set up an interview time with the customer.
In the meantime, I will be gathering additional information on your company the client’s company (B2B).
I’ll speak with the person at your company who has worked with the client. Then, I will record and transcribe my interview with the customer.
6: WRITING
I’ll use a defined structure for the story that highlights the customer’s challenge, solution and results, all backed up by the customer’s own quotes.
(Timeline: Completed 10 to 14 days after client interview.)
7: SIGN-OFF
Both you and your customer sign off on the story.
Approvals are normally done either using your corporate release form or a simple email approval.
8: DESIGN
The design is done after all parties have signed off on the Study and no more edits are expected.
The design and layout can be done by your designer or mine (billed separately).
Writer proofs final PDF with Client approves final document.
9. USAGE
Use your customer Case Studies in your sales and marketing.
Case Studies are often used on websites, blog posts, press releases, media pitches, newsletter, email marketing, trade show handouts, annual reports and more.
10. billing
Final billing is done when final design is delivered and approved.
I accept Paypal and checks.
